Pierre Cardin’s universe is a multifaceted realm, both protean and avant-garde.
Fashion, accessories, jewelry, fragrances, furniture, theater costumes, tableware, and even Maxim’s restaurants—these are the diverse domains that comprise the innovative world of the Pierre Cardin brand.
Geometric shapes, such as circles and triangles, intersect with the fusion of traditional and cutting-edge synthetic fabrics, resulting in unique and unmistakable lines that are celebrated globally.
Every element serves as an endless wellspring of inspiration for the designer: from the lifestyles of Japan and China in the 1960s and 70s to encounters that are both extraordinary and unexpected, from the mundane to the profound social, cultural, and industrial shifts and revolutions.
Each collection is a testament to Pierre Cardin's insatiable appetite for experimentation.
The journey of Pierre Cardin's Haute Couture began in 1950 when workshops were established in an attic at 10, rue Richepanse, with a mere 20,000 francs. Initially focused on designing masks and costumes for the theater, these workshops laid the foundation for what would become an illustrious career.
In 1952, Pierre Cardin debuted his first Haute Couture collection, challenging the insular world of high fashion and propelling his ambitious vision onto the international stage.
As the Fashion house flourished, expanded spaces were required. Thus, Pierre Cardin relocated to a six-story edifice at 59, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, consolidating all his endeavors under one roof. Today, the House of Pierre Cardin continues to produce new Haute Couture pieces daily, preserving the legacy and DNA of its founder, Mr. Pierre Cardin, showcased in the Haute Couture boutique downstairs.
